The funniest scene from the tv series?.

One of my favourites was the 'Peter vs. machine' scene from the episode 'Monkees vs. machine'.

Machine: Your name please.
Peter: What?
Machine: Thank you. Last name What. And your first name, Mr. What?
Peter: N-it's not 'What'
Machine: Notwhat. Mr. Notwhat What.
(Peter start's to try to correct the machine, but is interupted)
Machine: Occupation?.
Peter: Peter...Ya dig? Pete
Machine: You dig Peat. Occupation: Peat digger. And your mother's maiden name?
Peter: Thompson
Machine: Mother's name Thompson. Sex, please?
Peter: female
Machine: All right, Mrs Notwhat.
Peter: No, my *mother* is female.
Machine: And what do you do in your spare time?
Peter: Listen, i'm a man.
Machine: In your spare time, you are a man.

Peter really didn't stand any chance, did he?. Really makes me laugh everytime i think about this scene.

'Look out here comes tomorrow'.

I really like that song. I do wonder who Davy picked. Mary or Sandra.

Also, and i know this is just me and my stupid sense of humour, but every time i hear 'Mary, Mary', i wonder if it's the same Mary that Davy was two-timing in 'Look out here comes tomorrow'. I know Micky sings 'Mary Mary' but i still can't help thinking it's the same Mary. Yeah, i'm crazy lol.

The girl that i knew somewhere.

It's a really good song, i like it a lot, but i do wonder why some album listing's have this song down as 'The girl i knew somewhere' and other's have it down as 'The girl i knew sometime'.

I know Micky sings 'somewhere', so i just assumed that was the title of the song.

But, the "Daydream believer"  greatest hit's have the title down as 'sometime', and i've seen a couple of lyrics sites also have it down as 'sometime'.

I just have no idea why, or how, this song seem's to have two title's. Maybes someone misheard the lyrics and thats how the confusion started?. Or maybes it was just a typo nobody decided to put right?.

Some of Davy's song's are a little too slushy for me.

I love a lot of Davy's lead song's. 'Daydream believer' is a classic. 'A little bit me, a little bit you' is an all time favourite of mine, and i love 'Star collector' and 'Valleri'.

But, i admit that some of his lead song's are a bit too slushy and slow for my own personal taste. 'I wanna be free', for example, is one song that i can't listen to without the odd cringe moment. Like i've said, that's just me, i'm sure there's loads of people who love the slow, slushy Davy song's. People like different thing's and that's cool.

Oh, i'm listening to 'shades of gray'  as i type this, and i love this song too. Off topic, but i am so glad they let Peter sing on this song. I love the way he and Davy's vocal's are so different, but they really compliment each other on this song.

'Mommy and Daddy'.

I know i may be alone here, but i really like, and prefer, the released version over the 2nd (or maybes first) version of the song.

I really like the song. I like how the unreleased (until later) version is quite darker than the released 1st version (the JFK line, for example), but I like the line 'do you think i'm too young, to know, to feel, to see, to hear', so the 1st releasee version wins just for that reason alone.

The tour has been made official...i think.

From what i understand from fan pages on Facebook, the american tour is now confirmed.

Which means that, maybes, fan's in other part's of the world can start getting excited for the possibility of a tour coming their way?. I am a little eager in wanting to see the guys live.

I'd love to hear Micky's vocal's 'live' and witness his amazing voice in person (and see him in person), and I'd quite like to see Mike/ Micheal (never quite sure what to call him when i'm refering to him away from the Monkees. Maybes PapaNez?) live too, as i have only ever heard good things about seeing him live (and i have never seen him live either), and it would be good to see Peter live too.

So, the tour....

I find it a little strange that tickets have been made avaliable for tour dates, and yet there hasn't been any official announcement made, yet, about the tour.

I wonder if we are gonna get some big, wonderful news that the tour is gonna be bigger than we ever imagined, and maybe some new material from the boys. Yeah, i know it's a long shot, but there's no harm in having a little bit of hope.

If you are going to see the boys at a show, i hope you have an amazing night. How could you not, though, being that close to Micky and Michael and Peter. It's just sad that the four guys will never perform together again.

I hope that they will come and visit the UK again. I would love to see them 'Live' and then, i would be a very happy lady. And i'm sure fan's in other countries are thinking the same, so please come and visit us, sometime, guys.

I forgot to add to my fan fic

The little disclaimer, so i will do that now.

I, sadly, do not own the Monkees. I have no connection to the band, i am just a fan.

That's that done.

A monkees fan fic. What's in a name. Part four.

Mike walked over to his friends, and Bronwyn followed, feeling nervous and scared.
What if Micky didn't like her?.
"Guys, this is Bronwyn" he introduced her. "Bronwyn, these are Davy, the short one...."
"I'm not short" Davy defended."I'm just not as tall as the others".
Bronwyn smiled at him. She could pick up on his british accent, she was just as bad at accents as she was with remembering names, so she had no idea where he would be from. "Hi Davy", she said, shaking his hand "I love the accent. British?"
Davy nodded."Manchester".
"And this is Peter" Mike introduced Bronwyn to the blonde man.
Peter hugged Bronwyn, knocking her off her feet a little. "do you like ice cream?" he let go of her and stepped back "and what about spaghetti?".
She nodded "I like both" she smiled,"But not together. I like having them at seperate parts of a meal".
Mike smiled at Bronwyn "And this, this is Micky".
Micky grinned at her "How ya doing?".
She nodded "I'm doing fine, thank you" she replied. She felt her tummy doing butterflies. He was even cuter in person, than he was on stage. "I love your voice, i think it's really good".
Micky blushed "Thank you".
Mike looked at Davy and Peter "I think we should continue packing up the instruments". he looked at Micky "why don't you take Bronwyn home?".
Micky was confused "uh, I thought she was your date".
"I got the wrong name" Bronwyn admitted, a little embarressed about her mistake. "I guess 'Mike' and 'Micky' sound similar in a noisy club".
Micky shrugged "It's an easy mistake to make". He took her arm, and gently led her to the corner of the room, so the other's wouldn't hear the next part of their conversation.
"So you like me?" he grinned.
She nodded "I do". She looked at the floor "I understand if you don't like me. I know you must have a hundred girls chasing you...".
"Nah, not really" Micky replied. He gently lifted up her head, and planted a gentle kiss on her lips. "You wanna go out on Friday night?".
Bronwyn, still in shock that he had kissed her, nodded "Uh, yeah" she happily replied.
Micky smiled sweetly at her. "It's a date". he told her, before gently kissing her again.

The end.

Mike was nervous during the gig. He saw Bronwyn, as promised. dressed in a lime green mini dress. Her long blonde hair was hanging loose down her back, amd Mike thought she was very pretty.
There was just one problem, he realised. It didn't look like she was that into him. He had tried to make eye contact with her from the stage several times during the evening, but she just looked away each time.
Maybe she's shy, he thought. But she sent me the letter, so she technically made the first move, so she can't be that shy.
He decided he would go and talk to her after the gig was over, as she had asked him to in her letter.

He took a deep breath, and walked over to her. "You must be Bronwyn?" he said, shyly.
She blinked at him "I am" she looked him up and down, as if she didn't know him.
"I'm Mike. I got the letter you asked your friend to pass on to me".
"oh" came the reply. She looked dissapointed, Mike thought. "You're Mike?"
He nodded, not saying a word.
Bronwyn shook her head, in disbelief. "I can't believe that when I get the courage to do something like this, and actually talk to a guy i really like, i end up talking to the wrong one" she said, sadly. "I'm not good at remembering names, and the only name I could remember was Mike".
"That's me". He had an idea that, hopefully, would make her feel better. He didn't like to see her look upset. "Who did you actually want to send the letter to?".
Bronwyn looked all shy. She pointed over to the stage, where the rest of the guys were packing up the instruments, and she pointed to the band member who was busy throwing the drumsticks in the air, and attempting to catch them before they landed on to the floor.
Mike grinned at her. "That's Micky". he told her, gently.
"Micky. That's the name i was trying to remember". She replied. She looked at mike, hopefully, and then asked, "do you think you could introduce me to him?".
Mike nodded again, happy he could help her. "sure" he told her. "Lets go introduce you to our Mr. Dolenz".

A monkees fanfic. What's in a name. Part two.

It was Saturday night, and the band played another gig at the club where Julie worked.
The band walked in with their instruments, and Julie shouted for Mike. He turned around.
"You're Mike?", Julie handed him an envelope that Bronwyn had begged her to hand to him."My friend asked me to give you this".
"Um...thanks" Mike blushed.
Julie walked away, and Micky saw the envelope.
"You got an admirer?" Micky teased.
"I dunno" Mike said."The waitress said her friend asked her to pass this to me".
"You gonna open it?" Micky asked.
Mike nodded. He tore open the envelope, and took out the folded piece of pink paper. He unfolded it, and started reading what Bronwyn had wrote.
"Please come talk to me after the show. I'll be wearing a green mini dress, my name is Bronwyn".
Micky grinned at his friend. "well, looks like you have a date tonight after the show".

A monkees fan fiction. What's in a name. Part one.

If only she could remeber his name.
Bronwyn was notoriously bad with remembering things. It usually caused her some problems, but she got round this problem by writing down important details.
If only she did that when she saw the band at the club. She could remember the band's name: The Monkees. It was a cute name, she thought.
And one of the band members was equally as cute, she thought.
If only she could remember what his name was.
She would ask her friend, Julie, who was a waitress at the club, but she would just tease Bronwyn about her crush, and not knowing exactly what her crush's name was.
She thought about it, what could she do?. She could go and see them again in the hope....
Mike. That was a name that came into her head. Was his name Mike?. It had to be, why else would she be thinking about that name?.
She decided his name was Mike, and she also decided on a way to make sure she talked to him next time the band played at the club.

Randy scouse git.

I really love this song, and not just because it was written by my favourite member of the band, but also because it's catchy and it gets stuck in my head for ages after i hear it.

I have no idea which song that was written by Micky i love more; this and the equally fantastic "Mommy and Daddy" are in the top two, and i keep changing my favourite one.

I know Mike was thought as the "main" songwriter, and he probably was, but it kinda makes me sad that a lot of people seem to forget the other band members wrote some equally fantastic songs too.

Another thing i love about this song is the alternative title of the song (as some people thought Randy scouse git was too offensive) is 'Alternative title'. Not sure if Micky just couldn't think of another title for it, and called it that, or if he called it 'alternative title' for other reasons.

Whatever the story is behing the altenative title, it is still a great song.

I don't really have a least favourite member.

Ok, so i think everyone knows by now that Micky is my favourite member of the group, and my favourite on the tv show. I don't have to talk about how amazing i think Mr. Dolenz is.

Then it's Mike. I love how Mike is the leader, and i'd kinda like to have him as a big brother (tv show Mike). I also really like his voice, too. And he's cool.

So that leaves Peter and Davy. I can't pick who i like more. I don't dislike either of them.

Sure, they have both sang lead on songs i don't particually like, but at the same time they have both sang leads on songs i totally adore, so that doesn't help pick a favourite.

I am just gonna have to say that they are both in joint 3rd place in my favourites list.

'Head'.

I haven't seen the movie 'head' yet. I really want to, though. I have read some fairly mixed reviews on the movie, but i haven't been lucky enough to see it yet, so i can't judge if it's good or bad (not like it can be 'bad' in my eyes. Micky is involved in it, so it can, at worst, be ok).

I was in HMV the other day, just looking around the film department. I was gonna ask if the movie was avaliable to buy, but he was about 12, and i feared the Monkees would go over his head (no pun intended).

Also, i may have been really slow here, but i didn't know until i read it on some Monkees fan site (can't remember which one, sorry. I visit a lot) that Jack Nicholson co-wrote the script.

On another note, i think the 'head' album is great, so if the movie is as great, then i won't be dissapointed.

How i got into the band.

I have always liked the classic songs, like "i'm a believer' and 'daydream believer' and i have always loved the fantastic 'last train to Clarksville'. I didn't know too much about the band, just that they had a tv show, and had some singles.

Anyway, i watched a documentary of the band a little while ago, and i learned a lot about them from it. I had no idea that they revolted against their manager, and won the battle, and went from a "pretend" tv band and became a "real" band, who made some REALLY great pop songs.

I kind of began learning a bit more about them, and at christmas my mum bought me a greatest hits cd of them. It had all the classics on, and it was then that i truly realized why i loved the band so much: Micky's voice.

Yes, i am a Micky fan girl. I love his voice, and i love EVERY song he sang, and wrote. And does.

I have seen some of the tv episodes, and i decided that i love the band as a whole. They seemed to work really well off each other, and even though the boys had very different music styles, their sound really worked. On the show, i especially like Peter, and his 'stupid boy' act. He never fails to make me laugh. And Mike is just so cool. Since watching the show, i have a new found love for Mike. I would say he's my second favourite member.

Ok, i will leave it there for now. I have probably bored you all enough now. Thank you for reading and take care.
